Flammability warning
Hydrocarbon refrigerants are flammable and must be handled, stored, transported and used according to applicable safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines. A2L refrigerants such as R-32, R-1234yf and R-454B are mildly flammable and require ventilation, leak detection and ignition-source control.
Safe refrigerant handling
Only trained, certified technicians should charge or recover refrigerant. Wear eye protection and gloves, never vent gas to atmosphere, and always use pressure-rated hoses and recovery equipment matched to the fluid.
Storage recommendations
Keep cylinders upright, secured and below 45 °C, out of direct sunlight and away from ignition sources. Store flammable grades in dedicated, ventilated areas separated from oxidisers and cylinders of other classes.
Transportation guidelines
Refrigerants ship as dangerous goods. Consignments must be declared, labelled and packed to the applicable ADR, IMDG or IATA rules, with drivers and packers trained accordingly.
Cylinder handling
Never lift a cylinder by its valve or cap. Use trolleys, keep valve protection fitted in transit, check test dates before filling, and never refill disposable cylinders.
Environmental considerations
Recover and reclaim rather than release. Global warming potential and ozone-depletion values differ widely between fluids — choose the lowest-impact option compatible with the equipment.
Regulatory compliance
F-gas quotas, ozone-depleting substance controls and import licensing vary by country. We verify the rules for your destination before shipment and can restrict availability of regulated products where required.
